Anyone know where I can buy a speed sensor? Cycle gear doesn't carry them.

www.ronayers.com will be the cheapest for OEM parts.

Yup, there are a few connectors that just separate parts of the harness that he's talking about. I'm trying to find the .pdf I have of the wiring diagram that shows them, but it may be lost. Mine would show 0mph and then intermittently show the correct speed, sometimes it would also freak out and read speeds in between. The sensor just sends a pulse to the cluster where it is read and converted to the digital readout. Page 5-26 of the manual says to check the Black/Brown (+) and Green/Black(-) wires going to the sensor with the ignition on for 12VDC. So it's a powered sensor, not inductive. If it's not getting 12V it will not send a signal out. If it is getting 12V you will need an oscilloscope to check the output pulse, which is a bit more involved than the manual handles. At that point if you can verify 12V is going to the sensor and check that the wire to the cluster from the sensor has low resistance it's safe to label the sensor as bad. Maybe somebody near you can swap sensors to check before you buy one?

You could also try www.bikebandit.com for eom parts. Both ron ayers and bike bandit are great sites for eom parts if ebay doesnt have them.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-Ho...Q5fAccessories
That is a used one on ebay. If you are willing to try and the other sites arent hitting you over the head.

Not sure if this is relevant but I'm throwing it in anyways, I was just riding and before the temp gauge would read like 180-190 or whatever, now the 1 is missing so it only reads 90, 80 or whatever, not sure if they have anything to do with each other. Oh, and those wires have all been cleaned, checked and such so I think I'm gonna try buying a speed sensor and see what happens.

80C is 176F, one of the buttons will switch you back to F. Might have to hold it down a few seconds, I don't remember.

Nah, I read your post and thought, "Haha I do that all the time." The first time I thought my thermostat was stuck open. I usually hit it by accident when resetting the clock or trip odometer. It shows we are concentrating on riding properly and paying attention to traffic instead of a little letter next to a little number.
