Hello everyone, I just recently bought a 01' 929. Just wondering if there is anything that you guys could possibly tell me about this bike. My other bike is an 03' 636. Of course I notice the big difference. Also what kind of exhausts do most of you use that gives a deep and smooth growl.? Dont want a D&D. Any input would be helpful guys. Thanks...

first off, there was a recall on the 00 models that i believe extends to the 01 models as well. check for the punches on the right side of the bike on the frame.

as far as exhaust, ive got a carbon fiber twobros and love it. kinda loud with a deeper than normal sound.

if your bike doesnt already have one, get a stering damper, it makes a world of difference. as for pipe i have a yoshi trs full system and before that i had a m4 full system, both good pipes.

 

I found out about the recalls, no I dont have the punch holes. Im thinking about what kind of design i want as for decals or paint job< could any of you possibly post some samples of what you"ve seen or what yours look like. Thanks in advance everyone.

I just bought an 01 as well and is has a SS two bros that sounds killer.

on a sorta related topic, what were the recalls for? I couldn't find the punch marks. if I take it to my local Honda dealer will they do the recalls for no cost?

Your local Honda shop can run your Vin number on the recalls as well as the 310 783-3772 Honda number.I had both check it for mine and no recalls needed on it. Honda also said to make sure I register my vin number at the local shop showing new ownership so if any new recalls or changes come out I will get notified not the PO. Enjoy the bike and ride safe.
