I dunno how my 900rr compares to a modern 600 ss, but I rode my friend's '92 600f2 last night and I couldn't believe how different it felt vs the 9.

Totally different. My advice to others and myself, is to never ride a bike that's faster or better than your own. You won't want to get off.

I can never go back after the 9. The next bike will have to be a full 1000cc like an R1 or something. There's no going back.

thats very true for most. But some of us arent out to be the fastest on the road. And comparing a 92 600 to a 98 - 99 900 is not a fair comaprision. Ride a newer 600RR to make a fair comparision. I think the 900 will still have more torque tho.

I was just very surprised because my last bike was a 600f2 and it was awesome. Extremely flickable and nimble with great brakes and a crisp transmission.

My story goes like this, I started on a Kawasaki EX500 and thought that bike was the best.

Then I made the mistake of riding my friend's 600f2 and I never wanted to get off it. I wanted to keep that bike and ditch the 500!

Now fastforward to today, and I now ride a 900rr.

Last night I got back on a 600f2 and it felt like I was riding the EX500, I hate to say it but the f2 felt like a big moped.

It was only when I started to make the bike do twists and turns on the road did I realize it was nothing like the EX500 save for the upright riding position.

Playful, I actually did get a chance to ride an '06 600rr and I was very very impressed.

The bike was the most nimble, razor-like supersport I have ever ridden to date.

It was featherlight and turned and stopped and moved on a dime.

And just like you said, the only thing it didn't have was the torque of the 9.

I even beat my buddy's 04 GSXR750.
That's a bold statement...
