hi boys n gals, been a while but i got a bit of a dilemma and i know the feed back i get will help me so thanks in advance.
i'm riding a '96 900RR
i'm thinking of doing the 520 chain sprocket kit, stage 2 (i think 2 brotheres carries it) jet kit and full exhaust.
will this bridge the gap of carbuerated (sorry about the spelling)over fuel injected?
i've taught myself how to ride where i can keep up to an extent, but ultimately get blown out.
don't get me wrong i'm not trying to race it or anything, i just wanna be able to surprise my riding buddies every once in a while and be right there, provided its safe to do so.
thanks again
does anyone know what the base hp and torque for my model is?
or where i can find it?
thx!
with those mods

The 520 kit will give you a lower rotating mass so it will rev just a touch quicker giving a little more power, it is not as big amount in anyway. I am running KN filter, Hindel full syst, vortek gears -1 + 2 with the 520 kit and their was not much change with the 520 kit

sorry that post was all fkd up but I think you get the point.
All I ca say is do not race around if you do not feel ready, if you are too tight in the seat you will tence up when you need to relax and take the fast corner and go down. Relax and stay loose in the sadle.

It depends on WHAT you are trying to keep up with. If it's a post 2000 liter bike then no. You will not keep up if it's a game of twist the throttle. If you take it to the track and get GOOD though........THEN it's game on. I passed every manner of new liter bike on my 99 900RR at the track, only to get passed by some puke on an SV-650 through the tight stuff. LOL.
You will not in a straight line test of acceleration keep up with an R1/GSX-R/ZX-10R/1000RR. You CAN keep up with a 929 and 954, some ZX-9R's etc, but the others will smoke you.
Like I said.....you want to surprise them, go to a few track days and then invite them along for one and surprise them.
