Why would you
To all the guys who said they only do the speed limit. Why did you buy a sportbike then? To me the purpose of a sportbike is carve it up hit that throttle and let those revs soar!Of course anybody who values there life is going to do it when it is safe to do not 5 O'clock traffic, but really man a guy doesn't buy a ferrari to go 65 in it does he? Point being this don't hate me cause I use the bike for it's main purpose in life SPEED! The rest of you should go buy a cruiser! P.S let me know how that ride was for you! EVERYONE DIES NOT EVERYONE LIVES!!!!!!!
Hate to tell you sport, but cruisers can break the speed limit too [&o]We sport bike riders that obey the "speed limit" do it cuz its the law and yes the guy that buys the Ferrari does buy it for prestige and the mere fact that "it can go fast" but he chooses not to cuz he's got half a brain. If you want to spout your "I bought a sport bike cuz it was ment to do 170 mph" and "if I wanted to cruise I would of bought a vespa" hope you enjoy your "short life" on a "sport bike"
So I can't speak for everyone who has chimed in on this topic, but from what I can see, it is not so much the issue of speeding - which most people do to varying degrees. It is the issue of when/ where, and how you handle it. Sure the bike *can* go 170, and I am sure many people here have taken it up into the middling-high triple digits, but it is kinda lacking in class to come on here and start another "how fast have you gone thread" with your attitude. If you post one of those, expect people who have different riding styles to make it known. Most of them are merely concerned for the safety of yourself and others. I rarely break 90 on my bike, and usually I go within 10mph or so of the speed limit. I bought a sport bike because I enjoy the acceleration and handling it offers, not the ridiculous top speed. Honestly, I feel it much more fun to go through a good set of twisties than just WOT on a straightaway. You can enjoy the handling and acceleration while still staying (mostly) within the speed limit.
I'm sure everyone in this forum always obeys the speed limit .(SURE!) Don't try to tell me you've never hit the throttle on a public road. I don'tride like an idiot I respect the bikes power and ride within my limit, and have never had any sort of instance with a car in 11 years and I 've always been on a sportbike.
