I also need a front wheel for mine and would be curious to know what wheels work as a "bolt on" application. I do not want to modify anything. I heard that the F3 wheels are a direct bolt on but have not personally confirmed this. cbr900 wheels are impossible to come by. My front one is bent slightly on one side. I may just have it repaired. I dont know.
well i know the 93to95 will not work on a 98 99 the brake roaters are difrent you cant put the roaters from a 93-95 on a 98 99 rim iether i learned the hard way i painted a set of 95 rims and then found out they didnt interchange on my 99 but i think the 99 till 04 f4i rims are the same as the 99 900 just the front is 17"on the f4inot 16 " i hope this helps a little
I think that the F4I is the only other CBR that the rear wheel will work. The F3 rear wheel will bolt up, but it is narrower and a waste of time.
On the front, an F3 17" wheel is a direct bolt in swap for the 95 to 97 900RR. On the 98-99, you have to make extra spacers for it to work. I believe that the forks are spaced out 10mm farther on the 98-99, so you have to add about 5mm to each side (spacers). When using the F3 wheel, use the rotors from the 900RR wheel on it. They should bolt right up.
I'm not positive about this, but I think the F3 wheel is a bolt-up deal for the 93 & 94, too. You just lose the mechanical speedometer connection, so you have to switch all of the wiring (harness) over to a 95 to 99 to make the speedometer work. You also need the output shaft sensor, cover, and gages from a 95 to 97, too.

I just tried this swap on my 99 900rr. The rotors are definately a no-go. The 99 axle and spacers were used and they worked. I am not all about re-drilling the wheel to fit the rotors so the F3 wheel and rotors are going to eBay. I have decided to us a 99 VFR800 front wheel as this seems like a better possiblity for a direct swap.

just remember, you can use f4i 17 front, but you have toraisethe forks through the tripleclamps to account for the extra height the wheel will give you; if you don't the front will ride too high and give you slow steering effect. i think you haveraise the forks 5mm.
