Default Wheel fitment help

I have notice some great deals lately on Marchesini forged aluminum/magnesium wheels. They seem to come in 17"x3.5/5.5" formats. What would it take to fit these to my '94 900RR? How about brake rotors and sprockets? Is it worth trying to fit these? Any recommendations? Please help, need to make a decision quick. Thanks in advance for such a great forum.

I've seen them too, or at least a few, but it's pretty risky unless they were designed to fit. Obviously just because the wheel width and diameter are the same doesn't really mean much. I've heard for the rear at least, that you have to buy a cushion drive from either the supplier or Marchesini, which doesn't bode well for such an elder model. That could be why these wheels are such a good deal, because there's no cush drives or spacers left to actually make them fit. And I don't think the OEM metal parts will fit onto the Marchs. If you have the time and money, however, try it out and post up your findings!

Thanks, that was what I had figured. What do you all recommend as far as upgrading wheels?

Nice setup 900... What do you have to do to make a 6" rim fit?

Nothing the 97's will take a 6.25 without changing anything. and just for the fun of it and cause i got the tire for 50.00 bucks im running a 190 rear. but after i burn it up im going back to the 180's i think it rides better with the 180 rear then the 190.
