Default Which Wheel?

*Flame suit on....

Before you ask, yes I did use the search function but in order to save some time I am just going to ask my question then have the mods delete this thread as to not add to the pile after I find out what I need......

I have the front end (bars, triples, forks, calipers and rotors) off a 1993 CBR900RR and I need to know what 17" wheel will just bolt on with no modifications, if at all possible. I am not concerned with speedo pick-ups and whatnot as this is all going on a 1980 CB750F in which I will not be running a speedometer. My biggest concern is that the brake rotors will simply bolt on without having to be re-drilled or have the holes elongated.

EDIT: Maybe I am not clear enough, I am enquiring about doing the ever-so-controversial 17" wheel conversion that many have argued about within these forums. So, what 600rr 17" wheel will my rotors bolt to without modifications? TIA...

I apologize for my newb-ness (just have the bike for parts and know very little about 900rr's) and thank anyone and everyone for their responses and help.

Cheers,

Trent

well, any of the 93-97 CBR 900RR front wheels are a "bolt on", with some consideration for spacers and rotors. did you have a particular year wheel planned for this? did you ask about this over at CB1100F.net? a few of those guys have done similar conversions with pretty good success.

Thanks for the reply! I am looking for a 17" wheel and was under the impression that the 900RR's all had 16" front wheels, therefore leading me to believe I would be looking for a 600RR front wheel...am I correct?

I have not checked out cb1100f.net but will definitely check them out tonight to see what I can find.

Thanks again,

Trent

93 to 99 models all use a 16" front wheel, not just the 98-99 models.

If I recall correctly, the CBR600 F2-F3 91-96 models use 17" front wheels that are bolt ons for the 93 RR.

Also, the 2002-2010 VFR800 Interceptor wheel also work.

RC-51 front wheels will also work, you will just need to change the bearings and spacer to a 900rr wheel as the RC-51 axel was a different diameter.

if yours has the speedo drive on the front wheel . you will loose it with a 17" wheel
and also 92-93 front discs wont fit the 17" wheels . what you need is a 17" wheel from
cbr400rr vfr400 cbr600f3 vtr1000 and the front discs

Thanks for the info, and keep it coming!

Like I said, I have the triples, forks, calipers and rotors off a '93, but I just picked up a set of rotors from a '97 I believe. So I should be looking for a F3 600rr 17" front wheel?

Thanks again,

Trent
