Default What to look for in a 93-99 900RR?

Hey all,
I am looking for a 93-99 RR and I would like to know what I should ask about as far as maintenance on older bikes. Specifically I am looking at a 93 900RR with 22k on it and I would like to know what should have been replaced by this mileage and what needs replacement, anything in particular to watch out for, etc. In general, I want my 900 (whichever one I end up with) to last a while. What kind of maintenance is necessary for this older and potentially high mileage bikes?

Thanks,
Dave

you should look into changing the wheel bearings, I have 18k on my 93 rr and my bearings went just a couple months ago (they began to click) Look at the chain, be sure the o-rings arent worn. Feel where the clutch engages and see if the cables are adjusted all the way out. I also recently had to replace my fork seals. other than that, nothing really major goes on these bikes, especially not this early. overall, the 93 rr is an AWESOME bike. good luck man PS- adding a k&n air filter and a dyno jet kit adds SIGNIFICANTLY more power to these bikes in particular- have fun : )

Go to the general tech board. I have a post stuck at the top of that board. It's a used bike buying guide that gives alot of great info for buying a bike.
