Wetness under bike after ride
After riding from night class about 30 kilometers from home, I pulled on the driveway. I switched off the bike and pulled out the car to pull the bike in, then I spotted a nice trail of water under the bike leading to the road. I recently installed a new radiator and all of my pipes are fine. The water didnt run out continuously, it just vomited for a sec and then stopped. Oh yeah, it dripped underneath the middle of the bike, and I know the overflow pipe is there but it has never done this before.
Well what I wanna ask is, have any of you experienced this? I think it could be the overflow from the high pressure of the hot water in the radiator but im not 100%.
I just checked the fluid level, it a little lower than what it was earlier. I took the bike for a spin around two blocks and revved her a little to get some heat, but no more fluid came out. I guess the level was probably too high and that was only the overflow coming out.
I have my radiator fan on a manual switch, I pretty much keep it on all of the time.... Um.....I think I forgot to put it on tonight and it could have overheated a little at one robot. I think that was the culprit.
Thanks for the heads-up MT Wallet...

I'm no mechanic but I try to help when I can
That's something similar to what happen to me a few weeks ago. Mine the leaking is from the water pump which drips right below the bike. Still leaking though, on and off. I believe the leaking happen when the bike is idling only. Changed the O ring of the pump, still the same. Took the chances, went for a ride around 400km last week and the depreciation from the radiator is minimal. Lets see what going to happen.
By the way Duke, normally it won't drip if its a overflow. I had experienced when I poured higher than the level in the reserve and it just poured out when I start the bike. Its unlikely to overflow as well if the level is ok. You were mentioning you didn't turn on the manual fan switch; worst case scenario will be leakage due to excessive heat in the pipes or pumps. Just a thought.
Thanks, thats what I thought as well. She might have got a bit hot as I revved her quite nicely. It wasnt a drip, more like someone poured a can of water on the ground. I went for a ride today and she didnt leak again. Guess it was just the heat.
Thanks for the advice
It could be coming out of the weep hole in your water pump. They will do this off and on when the pump starts to go out. It acts as a kind of warning and will gradually get more and more consistent along with leaking more water each time. If this is the case, and it starts to get more consistent it will be time for a new water pump. I have had it happen before just a couple of times then never occur again so it doesn't necessarily mean your water pump is going out. It could've just puked a little and that could be the end of it.
