Default RE: upgrade

They don't make a kit and a lot of people say it can't be done.
I have 1999 plastics (minus tail pieces) on my 1993, so it can be done.

You'll need:
- 1998/99 Fairing Stay (part the runs from the front of the frame to the nose of the fairing)
- 1998/99 Headlight
- Upper Fairing
- Middle Fairings(left and right)
- Lower Fairings(left and right)
- Center "V" Damn
- THIS IS THE SUCKY PART IF YOU WANT TO DO IT RIGHT; All the little nuts, bolts and washers, along with the inner fairings and such... big part list, use bikebandit.com or your local (satin) dealer.

I'm not sure if the 1997 Upper Fairing Stay (Mirror Stay) will work with the 1998/99 Upper Fairing. My 1993 upper fairing stay was the only difficult part since the tank mount had only a single tab and the 1998/99 required the duel tab. It was the first time I ever welded aluminum and it took a few shots and some extra cutting. I ended up having a friend do it for me!

Once all together, I couldn't have been happier. The "jet fighter" look the 1998/99 fairings offer are still the best looking I've ever seen. Sure beats the bug-eyed look my 1993 had before the conversion!!!

The front fender wasn't installed in this picture... which is why the front end looks a little funny. Put a 1998/99 front fender to tie it all in.
