Default Throttle tube trouble!!

Hey guys, I am trying to put a new used throttle tube on my 94' 900. I am having a bitch of a time. If put the tube assembly on the handlebar without the throttle cables in it, it will turn just fine. When I put the cables in the assembly and put the assembly on the handlebar, I can not turn it without a lot of force, and it will not snap back. What the hell is going on?

Are you sure you have the right tube? It sounds like it may be to wide or thick

I bought it as an assembly (bar, tube, and on/off switch) on ebay. Everything fits fine and twists and turns freely until I put the bottom cable on.

The bottom cable is the return, Does it move freely in the cable housing before you hook it up. The cable may have a burr on it

If I hold the whole assembly in my hand off of the handlebar, it will twist and return. As soon as I put it on the handlebar is when it binds up.

try rerouting your cables then, see if you can find any unusual bends. it may not be in the channel where the connect at the carbs.

if that doesn't work, try lubing them up. maybe you just need some new ones?

try loosening you cable adjust a little. try the return line first.
there needs to be a little free or the cables will bind and not return.
