Daytona or shindy make good ones at a fair price, Around $200.00, Easy to install and 7 way adjustable

I have a daytona piston style and it works good. install in about 20 mins for minor adjustments difficulty about a 1 or 2. The body lays across the upper fairing stay and clangs on bumps but a few wraps of electrical tape on the fairing stay fixes that. rotary style dampers are marginally better but 2.5 times the price. dampers are very important IMO and even more important on pre-98 900's.

***edit**** My 93 fireblade has a stabilizer but I don't think it works.

Bike seems to run just fine without one and I've had the front end up in the air by accident by giving too much gas when using the clutch....but no problems so far.

I think our bikes are fine without them, in fact none of my bikes has ever had one.

400 maybe without a mounting kit, more like 450, and for that kinda money you can get a complete 929/954 front end, and then you'd have the calmer offset, inverted tubes, 330mm discs, a 17" wheel and get enough from selling the 900 front end to buy a daytona
the difference between a piston and a rotary is like the difference between a t-bone and a porterhouse to a starving bum.
