Really? Unless I'm missing something, I just pull the plug wire off and unscrew the spark plug. Put the new one in and go to the next one. Four times and you're done. Are they difficult to reach on your bike?

I am pretty sure you have to pull the tank and the air box but all in all really easy.

I dont know what year your bike is or how they differ, but my 99 is as easy as reaching in through the side panels with the sparkplug tool from the tool kit and removing them.

Replace spark plugs today and when i took the spark plug out of the third cylinder and it was covered with oil I really need to know what would cause this and is it a major problem?

It happens with a bike with miles on it. Surely the tip of the plug was not covered in oil, you mean the threads right? Any bike with some higher mileage is going to get blow by in the cylinder, but the plug should burn most of it off. I wouldnt worry too much about it. You could do a leak down test and see what it says. I doubt it's too bad to worry about.

What if the bike only has 2300 miles on it?

OH!! [:'(] Well, again, I wouldnt worry too much about it unless when you pulled it out it was absolutely dripping with oil. Again, the center of the plug should be a milky brown and dry, possibly a little gas on there, but normally dry. If it lookes like you dipped it in oil you most likely would know something is wrong, a piston would almost have to be broke for that to happen. Even blow by on the rings wont allow enough oil through that the plug cant burn off. Id put new ones in and go enjoy some corners.
