Smothering at higher speeds
So as the title says, my 900rr smothers when it gets to a certain speed. Doesn't matter the gear I'm in. I can be in second doing about 140kph and it will smother. I can be in top gear barely touching the throttle and it will smother. Anything from about 120 to 140. First and second, I can floor it until I get to those speeds. Also, it bogs when pulling off the line. Really have to pump the revs a little before she gets going.
So I'm curious. Is this a timing issue? Carbs? I know it's not fuel. The petcock I bypassed the vacuum since I was sure it was that causing fuel starvation. But it's not. I have really good flow now. So it has to be something else. Carbs or timing or maybe valves. Can valves cause this issue?
When I do accelerating, just chilling, nothing major, I hear tapping at the top end. When I'm idling, it's gone.
