Removing cylinder head cover

RE: Removing cylinder head cover
Do you have to remove the plugs? AH.....I couldn't resist man. My guess would be that it can be done with the motor in the frame but that will likely require removing every thing you already did to get to the plugs. You mean the cam cover right? Not the base gasket? The base gasket will require removing the engine I'm sure, the other probably not.
Did you download a manual for this bike yet? I would start first and for most with that down load.....it will be a life saver. From there you can tweak the work as you dont HAVE to do all of the steps for a number of service items. For example, you dont have to remove the radiator and front forks to change oil. LOL> The book would have you beleive that though.

RE: Removing cylinder head cover
I just did mine and my manual says you have to remove thr radiator, but I didn't. I took off tank, breather box, carbs (cleaning them anyway), coils, seat (of course), And the little rubber falp inside under carbs (can't remember its name at the moment). But I was able to turn it once loose and pull it out the back instead of removing the radiator and taking it out the front like the manual said.
That is if you are talking about the valve cover, and not the whole head.
