Default Rear Brake Issue

Ok guys so here is my concern. So on my 93 I feel like the brake has no power. The peddle seems stiff. And If I hit the rear brake even hard it seems like there's no brakeing power. Anyone got anything on this? The fluid is between the high and low marks right now. Any ideas?

Have you recently changed or done any work to it? Have you tried bleeding it?Has it always been like that or did it just start?

I've got a new disc, new caliperand a new steel braided line with a protec rear set and my stopping power is all based on my front brake. For some resond I have very little stopping power on my rear. I did'nt mention brand new brake pads. Johnny

Haven't changed a thing. I would think if the brakes needed to be bled it'd be spongey right? I'll take the caliper off and put it on top and try to bleed it (my caliper got moved to the bottom with the extended arm)

The system is specifically designed to make the rear brake rather weak. It is set upthat wayto avoid highsides. Under heavy front breaking even the weak rear brake has more than enough power to lock up the rear tire and send you to the ground.

The rear is great for holding your position at a light, or for when you need to adjust yourgloves. If you feel you need more braking, I would suggest you focus on using the front brake more effectively. Beefing up the rear will only get you into trouble.
