Question regarding the rectifier regulator and the electrical loop.

Damn man, sucks that you went through all that but at least it's going now! Hate to say though that you got ripped on the R/R. I know that stealerships jack up prices, but around here it goes for $80-90, I bought one online for $30 and cured my issues. I hope it all stays running for ya though, wonder what would cause all that which a hammer can fix? haha, oh well, back to riding!

I ended up ordering a RR online, the stealership wanted way to much for it. Anyway on to the tapping on everything, the only thing that I can think happend is that when the bikE was sitting for so long, possibly one of the copper coils was stuck inside one of the relays (just a guess) and the tapping freed it up to allow the current to run. Who knows, just happy it started at this point. LOL

Figured out today that it is in the starter switch on the bars itself. Same scenario this morning, tapped on relays and cdi, nothing....went to tap on the housing for the starter button and vroom...I think it is a bad connection inside the switch ( looks filthy dirty inside ), I'll have to clean it all out tomorrow sometime. Anyway, got a fresh battery and topped off the oil today, ran it for a while, can't believe how responsive the throttle is for a bike that has been sitting for so long.
