Projector headlights

The projector is piece of glass in front of a bulb(kind of like half a ball) kind of like a magnifying glass that makes things larger. Why would it use more power? The only thing that would change it would be the type of bulb used. If he uses hids there will be even less power consumption.
I would have loved to do some projector headlights on anything that didn't have it but I can only imagine how tough it would be to make everything just right.
I found a cadillac sts that had hids laying on the ground and was going to use the glass from the projectors but there was no way I'd be able to fabricate anything to make it work.
I want to see pics on the outcome.

i thought projector headlights needed more power than traditional? so what are you going to use to power them?

Yeah the only thing that would change would be if he changed the bulb type/harness used. It's literally like taking a giant marble and and slicing a 1/3rd of the front and placing it in there (obviously its a little more then that but you get the idea.) The projector just changes how the light comes out or refracts??? I don't know the details just the basic idea of it. I know I love the look of them though!

Hey guys wanted to let you know how it was going... got the plastics into primer Saturday but could squeeze time enough to get some temporary black paint onto them so as soon as the holidays are gone I'll be getting her back to rideable status I'll get some pictures.
