Default Passenger seat, tail fairing anything inbetween??

I just picked up a 98 900rr with 36,000km, wasn't running but luckily it just needed a carb cleaner, I lucked out for $800 cdn.

It needs a few odds and ends, I noticed between the passenger seat and tail fairing there is quite a gap. Is there supposed to be a rubber seal or something there? Anyone have pics with the seat open and closed?

Thanks

Also, the bike didn't have the lock for the passenger seat in place, and I purchased a new one. How does the lock mount to the bike?

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean the original subframe may have been replaced by one from a different year/model? The tail faring bolts up fine, as does everything else. Its just the gap between the rear seat and fairing that seems to be more than it should. And the hole and everything lines up for the seat latch, I can stick my finger in the hole and pop the seat, I just picked up the lock today and cant see where/how it would attach to the bike.

I was just pointing you to a thread about that gap. You should post a pic of what you have so one of the 900rr guys can answer your question.
