Default Newby question

5 years ago, I got a 97 CBR900 Fireblade when I was station in Japan. I love my bike, but I want more power and louder exhaust system... I've been riding stock since I got it, the only thing I have is a K&N air filter. Bike has 19000 kms and it's in great condition, I pamper it like a baby...

What should I mod to get more power?

I'm looking for a jet kit and a slip on, what do you guys recommend?

Off topic question: How hard was it to get that bike back to the states? I am stationed in Spain and just bought a '94 fireblade.

It was very simple, the only thing you have to do is empty the gas tank and make sure all the gas is off the lines.
Your bike is not consider a vehicule, it's consider as you household goods.
Once the bike is in the states, I took it to the highway patrol and they check the VIN # and that was it.

If you want more power, then you will have to spend $$$$$$$$ Cheapest way is full exhaust, jet kit, K&N filter and cams. This should get you around 120HP at the wheel. Stock is close the 113hp.
I say if you want a faster bike, then buy a faster bike. I like to keep reliability up and maintenance down.
