Default New To The Board Need Some Help

New To the Board and Need some Help, i have a 96' 900rr, I was on the highway today and was crusing, all off a sudden my bike just stalled out, so i went to the reserve tank cause i think i was out of gas, bike wouldnt start, so my friend came droped gas off and we jumped it because it died, so i pull of to the gas station and mess with the idle, it died again and wouldnt start, i had my friend come n help me, we tryed to jump it again and it sounded like it was running on 3 cyclenders and it wouldnt stay on (Kept Stalling out), So we take the gas tank off to make sure nothing was clogged in any of the lines, Put the tank back on, started right up, but when he was puttin the gas tank back on, he didnt remeber pulling this 1 hose off, he said he only pulled the gas line, and reserve line, so then he hooked this extra hose back on and it started right up, could that hose be some sort of vaccume line of something??, if it might be anything elese let me know please, but as of now its fine and dont want to ride it until i get some feedback on what the problom could be

Yes that is infact a vacuum line. I took my tank off recently to change plugs got inn a hurry and forgot to reconnect that line and had the exact same problem myself. I have a 99 900rr. If you trace the line back it runs into the engine block.
