I'm not very sure about this, but the reserve tank fuel is still with the main tank and still on top of the carbs right? So there shouldn't be a gravity problem.

Mine not with a fuel pump and I remember a mechanic told me once that the fuel flowing pipes and the system had been changed in the later model that makes it does not requires a pump.

 

Hey guys, I have a simular problem with my 99 whichwill die after running for 5 to 10 minutes. I was thinking I needed the carborators resinc'd, but now I'm thinking it's the fuel pump or filter. Anyone experience this?

 

Carbs out of synch likely wont kill your bike. They would have to be SOOO far out.

SOunds like you are running out of fuel. Check the filter/petcock, etc.
