How much is the bike worth
I am looking at a 95 CBR 900 RR, the bike fell over on the kickstand and has a nickle size dent in the tank and some small scratches. Also the chain and sprockets needs replacement. Basically a general tune up is also needed. Starts right up, no hesitation. The bike has 12,000 miles, F and R tires are brand new. Bike is very clean no rust and dull paint. No oil leaks, and the fork seal are fresh. How much would you pay for a bike in this kind of condition. If you need some more information about the bike let me know. Thanks
Well I just bought a 96 900RR with 18.5K miles that was laid over at least once, not to much damage, a small dent in gas tankand the fairings were replaced with ones from a 99 so they look good. Mine needs a tune up too, and it was really dirty. I've spent the last week just cleaning it. The tires I thought were in good shape, untill I noticed the nail in the rear after I had already got it home, so pissed! The guy said he originally listed it a 3K and didn't get a call so he lowered it to 2500 then I called and was the first person to go see it. I talked him down to 2K with the "its almost winter andit needs some work" speech. He thought about it for quite a while and finally agreed.
Whats he asking? I imagineits in really good shape w/ only 12K miles so yourguy is probably askingaround $2500. I wouldn't pay more than $2500 for it, and thats only if it is in really good condition.
One thing to consider and what made mebuy my bike is that 96s and up lost a considerable amount of weight and also gained more power (increased volume to 918cc). But if you can get a good deal on the 95, take it. Let me know what happens.

I paid 2700 for my 95, it had about 10,500 miles, cosmetically (plastics) it was not all that great but easy fixes, small dent on the tank and some road rash from drops. It came with a polished frame swingarm, both engine covers and subframe, V and H full exhaust, just needed a new front tire and a chain tightening. Mechanically the bike is strong as ever which is what sold me on it, I probably could have got it for less but I was impatient and needed a ride. Like Rubicon said around 2500 is about right depending on extras and/or work needed.
Make sure you check the date code on the tires, even if they look new they might be old and need replacing. Check the brake fluids too if they are clear you know the dude took decent care of the bike. If you buy it I pretty much guarantee you'll love it.
