Ok everyone..Here are two pictures of what the bend looks like. It holds air and the tire is fairly straight. I can let off the wheel and no shaking or anything...What is everyone's opinions. Get it fixed or replace the rim?

 

Hmmm, that doesnt look too bad. There doesnt seem to be any major damage. Fixing it should be fine. They are probably gonna just bend it back.

 

Who exactly would I go to, to get something fixed like this?

 

Mpt sure about bikes but a car mag repair shop might be able to fix it. Friend of mine drove his golf GTI into a HUGE pothole and bent 2 mags. They repaired both (not sure how, maybe some black magic there) mags as good as new.

 

You should be able to fix that yourself with a rubber mallet or a 2x4 on the rim and a hammer to whack it with. Couple whacks and it should be nice and straight. Done it to car rims many times.

 

+1 on a rubber mallet or lead might work but would suggest wrapping a lead mallet with a towel or something so it does not scratch your paint

yeah im in the same boat.... the bike i got came with an extra front wheel thats an inch bigger AKA looks cooler and im thinkin about just hammering out the dents and callin it good.....

MAybe make sure to go get it balanced again after you hammer on it for a bit......

Wait Til You See The Bend In The Kawaski Rim On The Front Page ... And You Think Yours Is Bad Haha ... I'm Sending My Rim To Them In Like A Week Or 2. Good Luck.

 

Personally if it were my rim, I wouldn't try to pound it back myself.

Take it to an expert and have them do it, is what I would do
