Well, reaction time doesnt have anything to do with the ET ran but I dont see why a98-99 couldnt go 10.40. If you got a DAMN good hole shot, I mean LOW 1.7 60ft and it ran good, maybe if you are light enough of a rider and the pressure was high, humidity/temp low and at close to sea level. Sure, it's possible.

I ran 10.4 on my 06' 636 w/ a 1.63 60 foot. Even if I spin I still stay well under 11 seconds.

Lets see a time slip, You must be a very light person. If theres one thing I know its drag racing and the average 600 goes low 11s with a pro driver under 170 pounds. Now the new liter bike will go low tens high nines. I've seen the cbr1000 go 9.90s with a extended swing arm and the same for the GSXR1000. Our track is at about 30 feet above sea level and I've never seen a 636 turn low 10s unless your spraying. Johnny

Went to shreveport back in September.......there was only one guy there on a 600 that was not running 10.5's.There wereabout 3 or 4 636's and then a few other kind of 600's. I am NOT spraying, I AM foot shifting. I am running a street tire. I am running 93 octane.

Our track went to shreveport back in september, I run a 92lx mustang. It runs 10.20s in the quarter and the only diference is my 60 foot is 1.39 and my 1/8th is 6.50. My mile per hour is 128. I don't remember seeing many bikes but thats very impresive for a 636. They can't get them under 11s here where I'm at. Suprised to see a kawi guy on acbr forum but then again I also own a suzuki and my wife has a kawi. Johnny

Well that is nice that you went to Red River Raceway in September to race your ford. I was at an all bike race in which there were NO cars. And if you didnt see any 600's or 636's then you werent at the right race. And not to totally bash a HONDA there was a guy on a bone stock raised up CBR600RR that ran 10.6's. http://racepics.nitroart.com/g/red_river
Dig thru those pics and see if you cant find any 600's....on the April page.

Different things come to mind when i hear a 636 "owned" a 900rr. A 900RR is a heavy bike.. about 430 dry weight, so add oil, filters, battery, gasoline and it's one heavy bike. Also rider body weight, if one rider is much heavier than the other the lighter rider can have some advantage there. Plus the 93 900rr puts out about 120hp at the crankshaft i think, not much by today's standards as the guy above stated.

I agree. All bikes are alot more powerful than they were back in the day. I still see too many people at the track on their "new" busa or zx14 running low 10's just b/c they cant ride. Usually though the fastest people at the track are the ones that either dont have a bike or left it at home OR they have a buddy w/ a bike that can smoke everyone there.
