Talking Got my first CBR!!

Wow!! Thats all I can say right now.. Got a 93 CBR900rr with 12k (traded it straight up for my old 4cyl car).

Rode it home which was about a 90 minute journey and although I'm pretty achey and feeling those motorcycle muscles once again, I've been beaming ear to ear on how much I already love this bike.

ITS BLOODY FAST!!.. ahem. I'm a responsible rider though - no desire for wheelies or that nonsense.

What have I been missing out on this whole time?!

Heres a pic. http://i45.tinypic.com/r9ejoo.jpg Has a meeean sounding exhaust too.

Welcome to the CBR Forum Miiikey,

Congrats on the new 900, it looks great in black.

Take it easy to start with and get those muscles used to riding again

Cheers, SB

93 is supposed to be quite the collectors item some day and be worth be quite a bit of money...I would keep yours eyes open for the original plastics (ebay) or even websites like this and scoop them up, if you ever get the chance..
and your really lucky to find one with such little miles but they are out there. obviously.
also the way you wrote up this thread, it sounds like you used to ride and just got back into it.by the way you say: your "motocycle muscles hurt" and sounds like you havn't ridden in the while. just for a heads up! they sell handle bar risers, allot of people seem to like them. I personally have one of my bikes set up with higher bars and the difference is day and night. also their very comfortable without sacrificing any performance. I never get of this bike sore.
well anyway welcome to the forum and how you enjoy your "New to you 900"
Jay

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely be looking into bar raisers.. I'm a tall guy (6'4") and it'll sound weird, but when I hunker down I'm able to rest my elbows on my knees. Way more comfy and less awkward than you'll imagine. Definitely want raisers though as I plan to ride this thing a lot. I used to have a Kawasaki Vulcan 800 which is obviously a lot different, more comfy, but way less speed!

What modifications would you folks reccommend? Want to keep it mostly original, but it already has an exhaust and bar grips. Wouldn't mind a comfier seat..

I'm on the tall side and do this all the time! It really does help. Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new bike!
