Long wheelies would cause cyl #2's main bearing to run dry of oil - so listen for a knock one the bike is warmed up.

Good luck, and I hope its a good bike.

thanks conrice. as long as the engines good and frame is straight, its worth every bit of what hes asking. Definitely excited to have something to tinker with. I enjoy my f4i, but quite frankly its boring.

Good deal. That's really the only issue I think they had. Again, I hope it checks out and you join the "fireblade" club.

Well I brought her home. Main issue is the plastics, nothing that isnt repairable. runs pretty smooth, will need a CCT though, has a bit of a rattle upon startup.
also noticed a rattle/chatter in first and 2nd gear, not sure whether its the rusty chain or a clutch issue. but it shifted with little issue so im thinking chain.

Looks good from where I'm sitting. Any pics of the chain?

Why would cylinder 2 be more susceptible than the rest?

Meh, my memory has faded, its Cyl. #3 that spins the bearing first. But anyways, its in the design of the oil galleys.

Sick of spinning a #3 rod bearing? CBR900rr - Honda Motorcycles - FireBlades.org

And you can find MANY threads on Google talking about 900s with a spun #3 main....

Don't know exactly why, but it is what it is, I guess. No bike is perfect.
