Default Gauge Cluster Plug Location?

Hello all!

I'm new to the forum and just picked up my bike. It's a rebuilt bike but clean...I won't go in depth (I've made an intro thread)

I've done some searching on here and on google and I can't seem to locate where the gauge cluster plug should be on the bike. I assumed it would be by the handle bars...logically it sounds like that's where it would be.

It's been converted to a naked bike, I do have the gauge cluster and will have to custom mount it...but for the time being I can't even find where the plug is for the cluster! This is worrying me...whether it was cut off, etc. I've only found 3 wires on the bike so far that appear to be cut and I can't tell if that was what it was for.

If there is no way for me to locate it...how would I be able to re create the female end of the gauge cluster?

Thanks

-Mike

If you can't find it I'd guess it's been cut off. It pretty clearly comes right out of the harness right about where you'd expect it to.

That's what I'm figuring at this point. Is there any place you may point in my direction to get/wire a new female end?

Thanks

You need the plug that plugs into the stock gauges?

1998?

No luck yet. I'm pretty sure I have one here somewhere, I'll keep looking.

Otherwise your stuck with salvage yards or a harness off of ebay for the plug unless your handy with a soldering iron and can figure out the colors.

I'll look more later today.

I've been soldering since I was a kid...if I can't get the cluster to work, is there anyway to install an aftermarket gauge that can be wired up? I'd really like the original...but as I said in my intro thread...it's rebuilt and it's *unknown* mileage so it's not huge.

Yes, an aftermarket electronic cluster will work.

Another option which is why I have the plug is this....

F4I cluster.
