Default Fuel Pump and Petcock ? anyone

Hey everybody I'm new to bikes and also new to the forum I just purchased my 94 cbr 900 about three weeks ago and after about 2k of riding it just quit and wouldnt start ,after further examination I notices my fuel pump was'nt turning on and that the petcock was leaking , I would rather purchase these parts used due to the price so anybody have either part in working condition that they would be willing to part with ????

I would check ebay. It's a shame that you can't use the bike until they're replaced, I had the radiator fan go out on my '93 a couple months ago after I bought it and was able to find one a week later for $25 on ebay. With the fan I was still able to ride it, just had to avoid traffic/ idlling for too long. If there aren't a set on ebay now, parts come up there pretty quickly. Worst case check your local salvage yard, never know what you can find there - or go OEM and pay a premium to get it faster/ new. Still, hope you enjoy the bike, they are a ****ing blast. I love the styling on the '93/'94s.

I've got a 94 and I removed my pump and it works fine without it. I did have to do alot of tuning to make it work fine. The needle and seats on the 93,94 and 95 have a smaller orphous because of the fuel pump and might not gravity feed enough fuel so I installed needles from a 96 and up. My bike works fine without the pump. Johnny

Just try it without the pump. Use 3/8 fuel line to get enough flow and your bike should run fine. Someone from this forum told me about this and I've benn running without one for a long time. If it starves out of fuel then change the needle and seat. Johnny

By the way the 96 and up don't use a fuel pump. Johnny

The needle and seat are in the carburators and you might have to change them and replace them from the 96 and up or get a jet kit that includes everything needed. Johnny
