Fuel pump 1993 CBR 900 RR post rebuild
Thought I would share what I found post rebuild.
Initially the engine would not fire & I could see that there was no fuel coming out of the pump, however when I shorted out the feed wires (Cf sect 5- 16 in the manual) on the block connector the pump worked fine.
Lucky in that I have a running 1994 model , so I swapped over the fuel pump relay but no difference , but both worked OK on the runner. then I swapped the ignition units over same result, so much confused gave up for the day and thought it over.
Final result, the battery I was using was not fully charged and whilst it span the runner OK, it was struggling with the rebuilt engine (new rings I suppose).
The eureka moment came when I realised that the fuel pump relay is triggered by the coil voltage, Yellow/blue & Blue/yellow wires, so if the engine isn't spinning at a reasonable rate the pump doesn't trigger enough to get fuel through.
One fully charged battery later the motor span and the engine fired.
Bloody obvious when you think about it

Spring cam early this year in Ohio, so I have been riding my bicycle both for delight and the day by day drive to work to attempt to maintain a strategic distance from $4 a gallon gas costs. Recently I saw a little falter under quickening when I was entering a littler thruway around my home. I didnt have a favorable opinion of it, and made a beeline for Autozone and put some Ocean Froth in with the gas feeling that perhaps the Stabil that I had placed in the gas before winter simply required some flushing out. this is the third full tank that I have placed in since I have "formally" got my bicycle out for the season.
