fuel overflow
Hello,
I have a 93 900RR. The bike is hard to start. I can get it to start, but I have to hold the throttle 1/4 of the way with the choke on. I do notice there is fuel coming out of what I assume is the "overflow". Does anyone know what I can do to get it to idle on it's own and not have fuel coming out of the "overflow"? There was a bit of old gas in the tank, and I've filled it with fresh 93 octane gas. The bike has been sitting over winter and now trying to get it going again.
Thank You!
Tom

RE: fuel overflow
if the bike has been standing and the fuel was stale to smell it sounds very much like the float chambers have stuck and allowing too much fuel through. looks like a job of removing the carb bowls and cleaning them out. there was a post in the "HOW TO" section on how to clean and check these things out. hope this helps you out.
