Alot of wet sanding to a smooth finish and polishing goes fast afterward. I use polishing compound with a buffing wheel and finally blue magic. waxing seals the shine afterward. johnny

polishing sucks okay. Some guys out there said it only took them 10-12 hours to do. well i was well into the six hour and still on the first grit even tried a sander. I just powdercoated it instead and i like it a lot better

Get some of this stuff, "English Custom Polish". do a www search for it. You will only have to touch up the polish on your frame once a year and even after rain or wash it will look great.

Mothers polish is formulated to turn the aluminum grey fast after one wash. That's how they make their money. Nothing works better than English Custom Polish. period.

I'm wondering what you mean. . .polish a painted or coated frame? Perhaps you mean something like this. . .

. . .and yes, I use Mothers and it does turn the aluminum parts grey (not that I really care).

I bought it that way. I'm not much into chrome and quite honestly, I thought it was more of an african-american rider thing. The guy I bought it from was in the military and about to ship out to Iraq. I have no idea if he did the work or not and to be honest, I paid much more than the bike was worth because I remember what it's like to survive on what the military pays. Don't get me wrong, I love the bike but I'll probably sell it for a song in late May or June because I simply have no need for two motorcycles.

I just put the purple logo stickers on it a week ago. . .The Baltimore Raven colors are black/purple so I thought it would be a nice touch.

Well I am still undecided as to what I am going to do with my frame... I have all black fairings with a dark blue bolt kit...I am either going to go with a polished frame or have it powdercoated dark blue... Either way... it is going to have to wait until next winter... its getting too warm for me not to have my bike to ride... and I just don't get the same feeling driving my wife's 250 ninja...
