i have a full set of 94 plastics and head light that i am willing to trade for a 95 + and i can through in some case but i need the whole set. paint doesnt matter and for that matter neither does condition. i plan on fiberglassing the parts anyway if they are damaged somewhat. but i dont want a hunk of crap. i am ready to get this project going to someone plese email me asap. from what i understand i just have to get the new uppers and they bolt right on let me know if this is correct.

Hey there man,
I have a 96 900 and from my research that I have done to get my bike together you can bolt all plastics off of a 93 onto a 95 or 99 or vice versa. A good site to check on is bikebandit.com they give part numbers and you can cross-reference the numbers and make sure. The only problem is that all of the parts change from the headlight to the marker light to the windscreen whether its the 95-97 your going for or 98-99. I bought a rear seat off of a guy on ebay and he said it was off of a 96...come to find out the bike was a 96 but converted to a 98-99. The seat bolts on but doesn't fit perfectly. I bought a marker light off of a 97 and the harness off of my bike doesn't fit to the marker light. Check out ebay you should be able to upgrade your whole front end between 600-1000 bucks. Just be patient keep your eyes peeled thats what I had to do. I bought my 96 headlight assembly for 150 new they were 300. He wanted 220 and I told him about the brand new ones. He asked me what i'd pay and i told him. Need any other help email me.

regarding the last post, 600-1000 on the upgrade is hella expensive. If the fairings your selling are in good shape with no cracks or breaks, then you can sell them on ebay and turn around buy the fairings you want for just a small exchange.

When i wanted to upgrade my 94 bodywork to 99 bodywork, the only thing i really spent money on was the tail section and light. which was like 200 dollars(and i happend to pick up the clear alternatives light which looks better). anyways, i remember that i put my 94 front fairing, with headlights, and headlight mounting bracket on ebay and got exactly 265 for it( i primed it myself before selling so that the buyer could paint whatever color he liked when he got it), and i turned around and bought the 97 front fairing with Brand new headlights from cycle therapy for $250 total. $60 for the new 97 headlight and 190 for the front fairing.

Trust me bro, just be patient and smart you might not have to spend as much as you think.

From my research that I did I couldn't find a front fairing for less than 250 with at least some damage. The 93-94 plastics and lights are cheap because everyone wants the newer years. My headlight alone was 150 and it took me loseing 5 auctions on headlights to get this light. All of the ones I tried to win had damage the one I bought was perfect. You'd have to shop for the next year and get a bunch of misc. parts before you get a whole set of plastics for your bike. I searched ebay and every place online for a 95-97 headlight from may of last year til august of last year and it took me that long to find one for this price. Mind you this was also after partszparts on ebay wanted $220 plus shipping for it! I told him what I would pay for it and he agreed, he was also a buy it now seller. What'd you have to do to get a NEW headlight assembly for $60 dollars. The bulbs alone are 15 dollars for two bulbs! Brand new headlights on ebay are 228.95 for a 95-97 and $265.95 for a 98-99. Front fairings are 271.48 for the cheapest and only ones on ebay. Thats just the front fairing and nothing else. The marker light used on ebay is $20. Add these three parts and that pretty much is $600 for three parts! $600 is hella cheap to me? You paid $550 for the parts you mentioned thats pretty close to $600 if you ask me!
