I have a 98 900rr and when I bought it, the previous owner cut the tail fairings to add a 12'o clock bar. Well I removed the bar last night as I will never use it and the cuts that he made are horrible. I can't seem to find any tail fairings like the ones that are on the bike in good condition but did find some previous years tails. Would a 96 tail piece be compatible with the 98's? or what other years would work? I looked for 99's as well but nothing and new ones are costly. If I cant find any, I'll be fiberglassing over the wholes to cover them up.

all of the tails will fit but 98-99 had a differtent splitter (the piece that holds the trunk lock) and rear seat. If you're going with an older tail just maker sure you get both of those parts from an older bike. All seats and tail splitters are the same from 93-97
