Changing tire size

Has anyone increased their front tire size on their 96-97 CBR900RR?
Pros and cons if you please.
I read that the VFR750f is the best choice, no need for spacers.

I went to a 17" on my 98. I just put a complete front end on from a 929. Now I have a choice of tires. I haven't found a con yet.

I just did a 17" upgrade and it works perfect they sell the wheel brand new on ebay for $250 delkevic-us09. the wheel was perfect.
