Default Cbr900rr 1998-2000 with cbr1000rr rear wheel

Hi guys!

im gonna do a custom project and will be using a cbr900rr 98-00 swingarm. is it possible to put on a cbr1000rr 04-08 rear wheel without to much or none modifications and make it work with chain / rear brake?

thank you

You'd have to replace all bearings and spacers as axle-diameter on 1KR is larger.
And need to make custom spacers as outer-width at hub is wider as well.
You'd have to measure both wheels and calculate differences and make necessary spacers to place sprocket, brake-disc and brake-caliper in proper locations.
Here's picture I came up with for different swap.

Easier to just use CBR1000RR swingarm with matching wheel you want.

thanks for ypur quick reply. Seems to be alot of work to make it fit then. I will have a look on other options for lighter wheels that could fit

The lightest wheels are CBR600RR, couple lbs lighter than 1KRR. And they come in 16x5.5" to use common tyre sizes.
