RE: Can someone who really knows please help??
Geez... things are getting pretty tricky in here... I won't give any advice to anyone if I'm not sure myself either and I never had acted smart whatsoever. I'm still learning as well.
My fact was:
1. Wiring for the speedo of 97 won't work for the 98 as well as the gauge
2. The speed sensor most probably can work for the both models as for my bike.

I should clarify my above statement because it was truly not directed at anyone in this topic or in this forum in general. I was talking about the folks on the street and maybe even some dealer techs who are supposed to know this stuff so instead of telling you they don't know, they make up something that sounds intelligent. I think everyone here is pretty good with their advice and we all just want whats best for our rides. Sorry for the mis-understanding. In response to Spirit; by shady I mean that the previous owner of my ride was probably mentally handicapped and did a lot of **** to my bike that justblows my mind. He used a hardware store lag bolt as a motor mount bolt! I was unaware of 95' uniquness when it came to harness and sensor configuration so that is really helpful info. Thanks
