Default The blade from parts unknown.

Finally got my first blade. Right away I can see and feel its in need of some attention which I will make time for to get this bike from the 1900's ready for the 21st century and hopefully keep it going for a hundred more years.

So its a 94 with the original 893cc first blade motor. Runs AWESOME! almost 60,000 kms so 37000 miles.
- d&d pipe
- Jets apparently will clean the carb amd show pics and sizes.
- stock size 16 42 sprokets
- battle axe rubber 16 front still
- what seat is this anyone?
- The guy said new plastics they look cheap the speed holes have hangnails
- stock calipers and suspension Unless theres some new sprins up front? Ill check I found out the original owner works next city over as a bike mechanic! Gonna go talk to him.
- appaerntly was in a front end wreck no jb weld tho. But new to it forks.
- needs some bolts here and there and a gauge light. Radiators got a big bend dent in it but the fan came on so. Rear caliper needs fixed was humming bad. Needs front tire. Valves n sync. Rusty old headers. Came with a 2nd startor so waitin to find out why.
- whats the general suspension settings to start at? 175lbs quick and dirty.
I actually wrote down to myself not to tear this bike apart as soon as I got it home so gonna do it right this time stay tuned. ANY help cunstructive critisism or ideas welcome and appreciated. Would like to make it factory stock minus the pipe n jets. Im on the fence about the seat my butt was hurtin is the stock seat better than this one? Thanks and I hope to honor the old school and die hards. Respect and thanks see yall tommorow.

Nice bike mate. Got a 95 myself with 50k on the clock and she still purrs like new. Had her nearly 20 years and she’s been a solid bike.
During those 20 years its only had a couple of issues. New reg/rect’ sorted one issue but a common one for me was the ignition barrel. I’ve gone through four ! Replaced front discs for wavys as one of mine had warped. Down pipes replaced a few years back but overall, she has been very reliable bike.
Your seat is obviously not standard and the one on my rrs is far more comfy than my RR5. Just me, but I prefer the standard style.
Enjoy your new ride mate !

Default Bike died but starts after 20 min. Reg rectifier hoooooot.

Charging with 5000rpm had it at 13v yes.

Coil wires going to Reg rec so hot the melted together?wtf?

Are the coil charging wires supposed to read 5 volts each? Is my coil good and just need a reg rectifier? Also the resistance was .4ohms. .1 over spec.

This was so hot! And its not stock is it. For the 94 cbr900.

I have this for a 96 cbr downloaded is it close enough to diagnose my 94?
Unledgable-will upload troubleshoot procedure lower down on here tommorow.

googled the part number looked like a aftermarket cbr 250 500 600 900 rectifier? Was wired up like the pic here crapyest wire job ever anyways. New OEM cbr900rr 1994 reg rec from my local honda stealership is $ 270 canadian in stock today goin to get it. Dont wanna be a parts changer but. I think i diagnosed it good. The charger coils were putting out 40 some volts ac when i reved it up. The resistance was .4 on em. The batt is new. There dont seem to be any parasitic draw or shorts to ground or anything.

New oem honda regulator rectifier reg rec hot.

But tye wires and new oem voltage regulator is stil way to hot immediatley after start up and run 2 min there scortching hot is that normal do I need thicker guage wire whats going on here? Will a bad stator charging coil do that what makes em so hot. Also does it matter what order the 3 yellow wires coming from the stator are in or just 3 to 3 whatever?
