Default Bad engine noise

I have a CBR 1992 and my buddy has a CBR 1995 with the exact same problem, both bikes has a ratteling noice when accelerating from low RPMs to about 6000-7000 RPMs We have tried changing the cam chain tensioner (original part), without any effect. My bike has 35.000 KM on the clock and the 1995 has 55.000 KM.

Any Ideas what could be wrong?

I think it is a bit difficult to say but it sounds like it comes from the top/right side og the engine.

Maybe get the valves checked. It might be time.

It could be the cam chain or the cam chain guides. If it doesnt make any sounds at idle then that would be my guess...without actually being there to hear it myself.

Hi ilde speed fine, maybe a bit "bumpy" though but not much. There might be a sligth rattling sound when the bike is at idle but it really kicks in when you pull from low RPM to maybe 6000-7000 RPM

Two things were mentioned, one is the cam chain noice, and the other is the carburators. If it is the carburators what can be done and how?

I am from Denmark, by the way

hmm...carbs may be out of sync..but i dont think that would cause anykind of noise though. I would check the cam chain guides and make sure they arent rattling or shifting.

Are the carbs stock? I had a set of mikuni flatslides that rattled horrably, The noise was well worth the power increase
