Backfiring when slowing down
You're running rich. Too much fuel that isn't completly burned is hitting the hot headers. Do you find it is hesitating slighly after rolling the throttle back on, like after taking a corner? I adjusted my jets and fix both those problems.
Well I have a set of micron headers and a vance and hines midpipe and can... I also have a k&n airfilter... If I am running rich... What do I need to adjust and how much???
Almost guarantee it's a vacuum leak at the base of one of the intake spigots (between the carbs and the engine). 3 of them are plugged with screws and the one on the far left side of the bike should have a rubber cap. Make sure it's still on there. If not, you will probably have a brass nipple showing and without the rubber cap it can suck in air and cause backfiring when decelerating.
