You can put a 190/50 on there but it will handle weird though. I have Metzler Sportec M3s on mine they hookup great and so far they are wearing pretty well to. I also have the Metzler Sportec M1s on my Yamaha and they are a great tire to I like Metzler alot I will stick with them. Oh you might want to stick to the dunlop Qualifer or the Metzler sportec m3 cuase they are the only 2 supersport tires I know of that come in 16inch front tire that our bikes have. I hate slipstones I mean bridgestones and don't really care for dunlop either, I have heard some good things about Pirelli and the pilot powers.

I HAVE A 190/50 ON MINE BUT AFTER DOING IT, WISHED I HADN'T WAITING TO WEAR THIS THING DOWN TO CHANGE BACK TO STOCK. BECAUSE THE TIRE IS WIDER BUT THE RIM IS STILL NARROW IT DOESNT LOOK WIDER IT ACTUALLY BULGES UP TO LOOK TALLER AND SKINNIER. IF RIM WAS WIDER WOULD BE BETTER.

I borrowed a used 190 (Metzeler M1) while I was getting my brand-new-but-already-caught-a-nail 180 M1 repaired. Felt fine and looked just like the 180 did. I rode the bike only once with it on, and that was a canyon ride (Tortilla Flat, for any AZ guys you'll know what I'm talking about). My only complaint was that the tire had been cooked and the outside of the carcass just wasn't gripping. It was hard and smooth. It was like the rear was riding in snow. But as for the size/shape of the tire feeling awkward, there was nothing that I noticed.
