Any tall 900rr riders here?
I'm 6'3" tall 215 lbs and I'm looking at buying a 98 900RR. I've done quite a bit of riding on my friend's 929RR and it feels a tad cramped (wide tank that I can't get my knees under). Are there any tall 900RR riders out here around my size or taller? Do you use different rear sets or adjust them from the factory setting? Just curious.

i'm a little heavier than you but 5'10", yes i had probs getting feet up on the pegs, may be due to old broken knee joint, so i had a set or harris rearsets and i have no probs now.plus he extra weight does keep the front end down lol
its lot more comfy as well having your feet just that little further back as well.
i wouldnt go messing altering the peg stays, just go for the new complete unit.

i don't know if rear sets are going to help, ther is a huge difference between 5'10" and 6'3".
you may waunt to checkout getting a bussa, they are lower but are a bit more stretched out.
you may waunt to check out bikes at a dealer and sit on all of them to see which is most comfy.
i'm 5'11" @225 lbs and i'm very comfy w/my bike, my knees fit right under the tank. if you cant
get your knees under the tank on any sport bikes you should look at a different style bike, because
imo it is not safe to ride if you can't hug the tank w/your knees to keep your *** planted in the seat.
good luck with your serch.

Hey man, I'm 6'4 200 LBS and I ride a 95 900. I am perfectly comfordable on my bike, I think the tgot changed in 96' so that probably has a lot to do with it. I run the stock rear set but I have vortex clip ons that have made the ergos a bit more comfordable then when it was stock. I think that my bike is one of the more forgiving out there for a tall rider and I would definetely reccomend it to anyone who is my height. Look into the tank change though becuase they may have retooled the size and location of the inner thigh releifes on the tank. Rear sets certainly wouldn't hurt any though. Good luck, hope I could help.

im 6'3 and weigh 220 and I feel very comfortable on my bike, a 99 900rr, I've ridden my friends 929 and I know about the cramped feeling you speak of. the same goes for the 954s but the 1000s were not that bad , I've also owned a lot of bikes in the past and the 900 is definitely at the top of my list of most comfortable bikes next to my 95 CBR 1000f and 96 suzuki intruder

6'0" and 200lbs, my '94 900rr is great, real comfy and easy to ride. I've noticed my ankles cracking a lot more when walking around after a long ride, sometines my knees hurt a bit too from having them bent riding a lot. other than that it's good, legs fit right into the tank and i can hold on fine.

Ok i am 6'5" and 240, and i am very happy with my 93. My knees go right into the tank grooves and i feel like the bike fits me very well. I agree that the newer ones seem to be a bit smaller feeling, after say 96. I had a 88 hurricane 1000 at one time and it was the cushiest sportbike i have ever ridden. most of my experience has been on older bikes, ( 88 FZR1000, the hurricane, 87 gsxr 1100, 85 Fz750 ) and it seems like the older liter bikes are large feelin, unless you get on something like the Hayabusa. Definitely stay away from the early 90's Ninjas, i always had problems fitting on them.
