Anyone have a 1998 model with the handwritten signature of Tadao Baba on it? Supposedly he wrote something inside the top left-hand fairing cowl. It says the machine was built to help riders appreciate the feeling of power and light weight. Could be folklore, but I read about it in a book on FireBlades.

The book actually said he got in trouble for signing them. Sure would love to see a photo of what he wrote. Mine does not have anything written in the fairings.

 

It seems to me I had a pearl yellow upper that had that on it- I thought it was kinda cool, so it caught my eye… Of course, it's long gone…...

 

Wasnt a signature. It was an actual embossing molded into the fairing on certain production runs. Had one years ago with it, might have a pic still. Not sure but I'll look.
