the riders will have a lot to do with it. So not real sure. you'll have a few more HP from the factory but giving up 40 lbs with the bike dry, without the rider.

claimed factory 1/4 miles times - 900rr - 10.61 @130.1 mph- 600rr - 11.2 @ 126 mph, these time are just from a search on the web. I think it will just come down to who is the better rider.

Look through the Timeslip section at the top. and see what they are each running

Acually that 600 is a very strong bike and it would be close. Ask someone in the cbr600 section. Johnny

Its the riders skill as everyone knos but I had to throw it in there haha.

equal riders and equal skill i dunno ide say the 900 but 600's arent slow by any means on the drag strip I had one buddy that had a 01' Gix6 w/ race plastics and hollowed stock muffler the rest was stock he could pull out high tens on that thing.

it will be close but I believe the 06 600rr will win. Even on paper the 900 appear to be strong but it will lose due to the depreciation of power. The newer 600 will have a better torque and that should do it though.

Im no expert with racing bikes but my brother has a 03 r6 and it takes off faster and is more responsive on the throttle, than my 98 900rr. In low gears at high R's (13,000R's) its sick im impressed with it. Im assuming because its relatively new and has to do with Fuel injection. so im guessing 600RR. lets just say he cant touch me after 50-160MPH .

ok let look at the stats 06 600rr 361lbs 98 900rr 398
o6 600 rr approx 112 hp depending on who is rating it
98 900rr approx 128 hp
900 has a torque advantage
900 should win but riders make a huge difference
i have riden both and own a 98 900 rr with a akrapovic full pipe and jet kit
and the old buttometer and front tire lift meter says the 900 is alot more fun for me
either one is alot of fun
and no i dont want to chase a 600rr thru the twistys that is there strong point
1st time i rode one i about ran off the inside of the 1st curve
