anything is possible if you have access to machining and welding equipment. The real question here would be why you would want to put an engine that powerful into a frame that is way behind to 8 ball in both rigidity and overall performance handling potential? If anyone has done it the only thing they are going to tell you about is how tough it was to shoe horn the motor into the frame and make the subsequent mods to the mounts in order for it to stay there. The wiring harness, airbox, exhaust, ignition, and bascally anything else you would need to make the thing run right would be a different nightmare all together. Save your sanity and just go with the OEM 954 frame or turbo the 900 to match the power you want to gain by using the 954. I work with a machinist daily, and own my own TIG welding setup and I wouldn't consider doing something like this in a million years. The whole point behind building a custom bike like this is that you start with the foundation (chassis) that will give you the most return on whatever crazy engine you are putting in it. If you were going to transplant the engine into a liter frame that would be one thing, but the 900 and 954 frames are probabaly the same weight, the only difference would be the 7 years of engineering that went into the 954 based on lessons learned from the 90 chassis.

the truth is that I have access to the motor, and my 93 needs one, I'm just having bad luck finding a 900 motor. I know I can put a 918 in this frame but....
I guess I should just ask if anyone has a motor for sale...
thanks again for your input

I wasn't trying to completely shoot you down, its just a lot of work and custom stuff that has to be done. Take some basic measurements off the 954 engine and see where the mounts are. If they are totally different than the 900's you'll know it won't be possible. You would have to transplant the wiring harness and F.I. components as well. Keep looking on Ebay and an engine will come up. Good luck with whatever you do.

No kreative, at least you realized what Fighter was talking about. Basically its not impossible but its not just putting a motor into the frame.

I may still buy the motor, maybe not for the 900, but I'm thinking of a unlimited bike for the ama
I have a cbr 600 for the small class.
one of my hillclimb buddies has a couple of 900 motors, and he said I can problebly buy those I am just waiting to hear back from him.
I have a machine shop, but I was'nt sure if anyone has tried this hybrid model
