Default 95 900 fuel pump issues??

Hi guys,
Having trouble getting my 1995 CBR900RR to start after sitting all winter.
It ran perfect before I stored it for winter. I can squirt fuel into the carbs and it starts and runs.
Yes I do have fresh fuel and the petcock is on. I get fuel down to the pump, but not through it.
I am not sure how this pump works. Is it a constant motor pump like used on a car or is it some kind of pulse pump.
I put 12 volt directly to the pump and it sounds like it pulsing or clicking. I did not know if this is normal or maybe the motor in the pump is locking up.
The pump doesn't make any noise or do anything when hooked through the bike wiring harness. I have checked for voltage at the wiring connection from the bike to the pump with the key on and even cranking and the voltage is erratic might go to around 6 volts for a split second while cranking and then drops to zero. Is this normal?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would try bypassing the fuel pump altogether. Make sure to disconnect the power to the pump so you don't burn it up in case it is working. I know for a fact that these bikes will run with gravity feed, so this will be a good test. If it runs without the pump, then the pump is bad. Some people remove the fuel pumps and never put them back.

I finally got it running. Pretty simple. All I had to do was prime the system. I hot wired 12 volts to the pump and ran the pump until the float bowls got full and the system got primed. You can hear the pump change sounds and bogg down when the bowls are full. I then hooked the fuel pump wires back into the wiring harness and the bike started imediately and runs perfect.
I am thinking about wiring in a push button and mount it somewhere accessable Like just under the seat and then every spring after the bike has set all winter I can just push the button and supply 12 volts to the pump to prime the system manually. I just got to figure out how to wire it into the relay.
So I guess on my part I was over thinking it. Alway try the simple things first when trouble shooting.
Anyway thanks for you help.
I'm off for a ride.
