93 900rr running problems
i do have a motion pro sync and i ordered a d-shaped polit tool do i just replace the floats or floats and fuel valves if i soak them in gas or somthing are their any parts that cant soak
Ok the pilot tool with be helpful, but thats not going to solve the issue at hand. Do you have a manual for your bike? If you don't then you need to get one because your not going to be able to tell what is within spec without the measurments that book contains. The floats are checked in a very certain way and they are measured precisely, so I can't walk you through that proceedure. Bascially though, if one of them is sitting lower or higher than the others than either the fuel valve has been damaged or overstressed, or the float tang has been bent. I'm not sure I understand your question about sokaing the stuff in gas, but its not going to really help. Carbs are extremely sensitive and precise devices that need to be tuned and maintained in tight tolerance in order to get the maximum performance. There are no short cuts or quick fixes, only the right parts, and the knowledge to troublshoot. Get a manual and all of the proceedures I have told you about will be outlined very clearly. Good luck.
the fuel pump on the 93 only runs when the bike is turning over but it should pump fairly quicly when you are turning over the bike or it is running. try setting up what i call aFuel IV where you just have a hose into your main fuel line and gravity feed gas into the carbs. that will give you a pretty good guess as to if it is before or after your fuel pump.
Have you ruled out an intermittent fuel pump failure. Mine crapped out on me once and it was pumping fuel but just enough to run the bike at idle. It died on load and those suckers are not cheap.

still waiting on that dang tool, but i do have clymer book. my pump seems to run consistantly. im hopeing that since the carb are clea now. that maybe the pilot is now out of adjustment. the carbs were super gross (looked like pudding in the bowls when i first started cleaning them. now their pristine)
I should probably take mine apart to make sure they are clean. I get this weird lag type hesitation thing from time to time (feels like riding into a strong wind gust but the rpm's stay constant). But it's intermittent so I've not messed with it and I'm just a little scared to mess with the carbs.
