It all depends. If you can yank the chain better then your friend, you can win.

haha, on another note: you wont win a 08+ 1kRR no matter how well you can yank the chains...I know because my bro's 1kRR will eat my 900rr even if he starts on 2nd gear(a little extreme, but you get the point).

I dont know how good of a representation our race really was. The weakest element of both bikes in the race was the operators.

From editing the video, i was able to tell we were doing ~12.5 @ 130ish 1/4 mile runs.

In the hands of experienced drag racers, I think my 929 would have proformed MUCH better.

I'm sure we'll do a rematch though, and when we do i'll throw the video on here again.

12.5's? You had to be doing better than that. I used to drag race my bone stock 900RR back in '94 and consistantly run 11 flats, with some 10.8's and 10.9's thrown in there. This was from a 190lb 24 year old with absolutely no drag racing experience. (me)

You should be able to do 12.5's without even giving it full throttle.

Yeah, I also have no racing experience. On the second race I bogged it too much and pretty much took off from 2000rpm. I have no doubt that my 929 could easily be in the 10s with a pro at the controls.

As for the bike tunes, the 900RR was not jetted for it's mods.

My 929RR has a custom map for the PCIII done by a dyno shop. It is as dialed in as it can get.

Sorry I haven't been visiting my old threads. Just got back from vacation.

Yeah, sadly I wish the bike had more power. I'm thinking R1 or the new Fireblade power or '05 ZX-10R power.

Something scary fast.

Thanks for the vid, but is that a pretty deserted road?

Might be better to take it to the track.

Yeah, it is a fairly deserted road. i don't think we would see more than 10 cars/hour on an average day. I would agree that we should take it to the track, but we really don't have many options close to us. yeah, i am sure we will rematch. Next year i plan to jet my bike so we will see what happens. I have already put to much money into it this year. I am really excited to see what the f4i has in it, as i haven't ever road with one.
