Default 900rr conversion to F3 front rim

I've found a few places that tell you how to swap the 16" rim on the 900rr with the F3 17" front rim, but I have yet to find anyone who has done it. Has anyone on this site done this conversion? Does it work? What problems did you come across, if any?
And if this is a good thing, then I'll be shopping for a F3 front rim

I'm sure you know this already, but a lot of people go with the 17" vfr front rim. It could be very similar though... Sorry I couldn't offer more help on it.

I haven't swapped mine, I think the main reason people do swap is for a different tire selection. I'm pretty sure from what all I've read you can swap a f3 rim in just fine, maybe needing f3 rotors as well, but I would wait till someone that knows more comments, or maybe use the search to find old threads about it. I was debating doing it myself, but figured I'd stick with the 16. Plus F3 front rims are getting hard to find, and people want an arm and a leg for one

Yea, I have also heard that many people do it for tire selection. There is plenty of info on it around the web - you just need to put forth some effort to find it what you need to know on doing it.

What year is it? The 98-99 900RR is a PITA to convert.

I guess I'm having a hard time understanding why someone would go to all the trouble of switching to a 17" front tire just so that they will have a better selection of tires. The Bridgestone Battlax BT014 tires on my bike seem to do just fine. I admit that I could be speaking out of ignorance here but are other tires really that much better? I really think not.

True...I know I don't ride anywhere near the bike's or tire's potential. I guess if I was looking for better performance (or something to tweak) I would consider a conversion.

the good part about this mod is that when done ,you wood never know unless you look at the tire size as the f3 is the same thrust style wheel.

I made the swap but was sold a 1992 CBR F2- 17 inch. I did the swap with some spacers but have noticed the brakes don't come in full contact and are now squealing every time I use the front brakes. Anyone know of a solution short of finding a VFR front or changing the whole fork assembly?? Haven't seen any larger rotors for the F2 or brackets to relocate the brake calipers for better contact/ braking. Anyone with info please PM me!!
